One of our first shoots of 2019 was a bespoke shoot with a difference. Not only were the stars of the shoot a beautiful set of twins, but mum and dad also asked us to include their other two babies: the springer spaniels.
Bespoke experiences like this always get us thinking, and we spent a great deal of time beforehand going over all the possible compositions until we found something that worked. Mum and dad had already told us they liked the simplicity and neutral colours of a rustic ‘country’ theme, so including the dogs already seemed like the perfect fit. One of Sonja’s homemade floral rings became part of the backdrop, and the miniature white bedframe gave the twins the height they needed next to the spaniels.
We were exceptionally lucky that the springers were incredibly well-behaved and relaxed. We got the twins into position, tweaked each tiny finger until they were in place, and then introduced the dogs. With the tempting prospect of steak behind the camera, both sets of eyes were forward, and capturing the shot took a matter of minutes. Sonja always says that the taking of the photographs is the quick bit, it’s the ‘faffing’ beforehand that takes the time. I’m sure you will agree, the final image, which was finally presented in a huge frame, was well worth the time and extra thought needed for one of our bespoke shoots.
If you have a particular theme, image, prop, or set in mind for your newborn pictures, it is always worth getting in touch with us to discuss planning a bespoke shoot. We are always open to trying something new, and we love building our Newborn Photography Experiences around each of our valued clients!
